horrible monsters

This show is a collection of images from Rick Ashley’s Horribles Parade and the Kids that Love It and Neal Rantoul’s Monsters.

MONSTERS came about when Neal spotted the store, Halloween Costume World, in Fitchburg, MA. The imagery taps into our other selves, with a look at something a little funny, a little weird and definitely a little twisted.    HORRIBLES is Rick’s way of seeing the annual 4th of July “Horribles Parade” in Marblehead, MA. In the 1850s as members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts could no longer march, the parade became one of satire, giving birth to the “Ancient and Horribles” parade. As the years passed, the parade slowly morphed into a parade for children.
