I’ve added three, two session intensive workshops, Lightroom Raw Development, Photoshop Masking, and The B&W Print.  The classes are 2.5 hour sessions in which you’ll develop a stronger foundation and understanding of these digital processes.  In each workshop you’ll receive instruction in the why and how of the tools used, and review of your processed files.

Lightroom Raw Development: Thursday, September 17th, 2:00pm ET.

Photoshop Masking: Friday, September 18th, 2:00pm ET.

The B&W Print: Monday, September 21st, 2:00pm ET.

The Print workshop for refining your printing skills has been rescheduled to begin Tuesday, September 22.  The workshop has been redesigned into two, four-week sessions.  The first four weeks concentrate on the development of your file in Lightroom for a better understanding of how the controls within camera raw set the foundation for printing. The following four weeks move into PhotoShop to learn the tools for refining your file for the finished print.

Lightroom Raw Development, Photoshop Masking, and The B&W Print workshops are $145.  The Print workshop is $650 per four week session.

I Take Pictures Too will have its virtual Opening tomorrow on Thursday, August 27th, 5:30 – 7:00pm ET.

“Bob Korn comes to the task of presenting his own photographs in the gallery he runs with a unique perspective. He’s known as one of the best printers in the business and, over a long career, has seen and printed some of the best photographic art of the past and present centuries.

Confronted with the unique circumstances of COVID-19, where many galleries are either folding or closed, Bob saw the opportunity to show his own work and has produced a group of photographs that state, unequivocally, that he too is a photographer.

Imagine coming at the medium of photography with his history of working first hand with some of the acknowledged masters of the medium. How that would inform your own perceptions and inclinations when you make pictures.

We all make too many photographs. Increasingly, the challenge is which ones to choose.

I had the honor of being the one Bob asked if I would look over scores of his photographs and edit them down to a manageable group to show in The Gallery Upstairs.

What I found was some remarkable work from a master printer who also photographs.

Not to be missed”.

We have some events coming up the next few weeks.  On Thursday, August 27th, 5:30pm ET, will be the virtual opening for “I Take Pictures Too”.  This show was curated by Neal Rantoul and will be the first time I’ve shown my own images.  Zoom in for virtual beer and pretzels.

Many have asked me “how do I know what I don’t know?” in regards  to digital processing and printing.  On Monday, August 31st, 5:00pm ET, I’ll be answering your questions so make a list and join in to get some answers.

Hope all is well and safe.

Our new Online Workshops beginning in July, are designed as overviews to help you build a strong foundation in the digital processes.  Along with our Printing Workshop, we’ve added four, 2-hour classes covering file management, RAW processing, print workflow, and B&W processing.

File Management: Tuesday, July 14, 1:00pm ET.    We’re always looking for files, and beginning with hard drive organization to Lightroom cataloging, this workshop will help you design a simple system for file management.

RAW Development: Tuesday, July 21, 1:00pm ET.    File development is the key component in the digital photography process. Working in Camera Raw, I’ll explain how to use the tools that can bring the most out of your image.

The Print Workflow: Tuesday, July 28, 1:00pm ET.    There is not just one way of working within the process of making the print.  We’ve all developed systems for ourselves, some better than others, to navigate the software for this process.  In this workshop, I’ll share my workflow to help you refine your own way of printing.

B&W Processing: Tuesday, August 4, 1:00pm ET.    As with everything in the digital process, there are numerous ways to accomplish what you need done, and the conversion of the camera’s color file to B&W is no exception.  I’ll explain my process using both Lightroom and Photoshop to create the rich tone filled B&W image we strive for.

Workshops are $80 and limited in order to maintain the ability to address individual’s questions and needs.  To register, or for more information, call or email.
